The regulations mentioned here are for the number of hours allowed for drivers of commercial vehicles in England, Wales and or Northern Ireland. For information on Scotland where there is a different control regime we advise contacting your relevant local authority.
Small goods and dual purpose vehicles. Drivers of goods vehicles not exceeding 3.5 tonnes maximum weight and dual purpose vehicles are subject only to the 10 hour daily driving limit and exempt form the 11 hour daily duty limit when doing the following jobs :
- The AA, RAC or RSAC
- Doctors, dentists, nurses, midwives and vets
- Commercial travellers
- Any services of inspection, cleaning, maintenance, repair, installation or fitting
- Cinema or radio or television broadcasters.
